Tim Kupsick

Design Editor

I am a photojournalism major in my senior year, originally from Portland, Ore. I hope to work at a newspaper after graduation and use multimedia pieces to deliver stories to the public. I am currently the online photo editor and a photographer for the Montana Kaimin, UM’s campus newspaper. I became interested in the Native News Honors Project after reading the “Sovereignty” issue of 2004, and was especially impressed with its design. Many of my friends enjoyed the experience of photographing and reporting for that issue.

My name is Tim Kupsick, and I am the design editor for the 2007 Native News Honors Project.

I am a sophomore print journalism major and Irish Studies minor originally from Oregon. I moved to Billings, Mont. in elementary school. I graduated from high school a semester early and attended MSU-Billings for a semester. After working on a literary magazine at that university, I transferred to UM to study journalism. I currently work for the Montana Kaimin as the Web editor, and am looking forward to bringing the Native News Honors Project to life online by utilizing multimedia presentation. My name is Elizabeth Davis, and I am a web designer for this year’s Native News Honors Project.

Web Designer

My name is Denny Lester, and I am a senior majoring in photojournalism at the University of Montana. I am from Great Falls, Mont., and have been designing Web sites for nearly six years. This will be my second time building the Web site for the Native News Honors Project, and I am looking forward to another challenge.

We’re excited about trying out a few new things with this year’s site, and we would appreciate any feedback on stories, photographs or the site’s design.
