I'm a 21-year-old senior in the journalism school, and I was born and raised in Helena, Mont. The most exposure I've had to the Blackfeet Reservation has been stopping off in Browning en route to and from Glacier National Park. I'm hoping that the Native News Honors Project will give me a chance to have a more engaged look at the culture of the Blackfeet. My name is Daniel Person, and I'll be reporting from Montana's Blackfeet Reservation.

I am from the Colorado River Indian Reservation in western Arizona, and a senior majoring in photojournalism at the University of Montana. As an infantryman in the U.S. Marines, I have had the opportunity to visit many countries and learn about many cultures, most recently in Iraq. I have also visited various Indian reservations and noticed the similarities that some share with Third World nations.

I feel that my experiences and open-minded attitude will be useful in understanding the people and the issues I will include in our report. I am happy for this opportunity and hope that my efforts will help both those involved and not involved to understand the issues at hand. My name is Ryan Tahbo, and I will be photographing Montana's Blackfeet Reservation as well as working as photo editor for the Native News Honors Project.
